How does the Peoples Dental Plan card work?
When you visit a participating dentist, just show your Peoples Dental Plan card. The dentist will give you a discount off of their normal fees. You'll receive a fee schedule with your membership card that lists the amount you'll need to pay at the time of service.
When can I start using my card?
Your card is active as soon as your receive your membership packet. Just call a participating provider and make an appointment. Please verify that he or she is a CAREINGTON provider.
Will I really save money with the Peoples Dental Plan?
Yes. You will save at least 20% - and, many times even up to 50% - whenever you use the card. (Savings figures are based on comparisons to current national averages.)
Can others in my family use the card and get the discount?
Yes. Family members in your household, including spouses, children under 18, children 18 and over who are attending school, and financially dependent relatives can all use the card. So you can see how much money you can save whenever someone has to go to the dentist!
Is there someone I can call if I have another question?
Yes. Members can call our customer service department at 1-877-885-1633 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eastern Time.
What qualifications determine if a dentist is able to join the Provider Panel?
Dentists must meet CAREINGTON's highly selective credentialing process which is based on education, background, location, office facilities and other requirements.
Is work in progress discounted?
Work in progress that was started before joining the Peoples Dental Plan must be completed by the dentist who started the work, and is not discounted. Of course, any dental procedures performed by a nonparticipating dentist are not discounted.
Can the Peoples Dental Plan coordinate services with insurance plans?
Yes. The Peoples Dental Plan can coordinate services with dental insurance plans. In order to receive discounts from the Peoples Dental Plan you must see one of our providers. After paying the reduced fee, you will need to file a claim form with your insurance.
